Restoration
Restoration attempts of cracked, chipped, or warped Edison Diamond Discs is not recomended, as doing so could damage the reproducer during playback. Some restoration guidelines for phonograph repair can be found at 78rpmrecord.com but these are generally not applicable to the diamond disc given the way that they were manufactured. An alternative to restoration is optical round reproduction, some information can be found at the Lawrence Berkeley National Library IRENE project.
Other options include sending your damaged Diamond Discs to a professional, but many of the issues mentioned in the in the Inherent Vice section cannot be repaired.
